You'll Never Regret Showing Up

The difference between people who make it and the ones who are just passing by and making a small contribution instead of changing the world is the love for boredom.

Our biggest hindrance to making real progress is not failure—it's boredom. The bad news is, everyone gets bored. Actually, make that the good news.

We all get bored, but those who find a way to show up and deliver what's expected of them through any mood and weather are the ones who make it. Practice makes improvement, but it has to happen every day, doing the same stuff over and over again until you get better.

Perfect is a dream, and anyone expecting perfection from you is delusional. Show up and do the thing you're supposed to do. Learn how to get fascinated with your routines even if it's the same kicks, punches, hip thrusts, grammar rules, story framework, or recipe.

What works, works until it doesn't. Those that show up every day are the only ones who notice small exits toward progress. Those that dabble, can only hope to get lucky.
