When Do We Need Gatekeepers?

In my opinion, this character is the perfect depiction of a gatekeeper. Old, strong guy with a gut who always wears a tank top for some reason.

When the songs that are coming out are too lazily-produced.

When samples get sampled—repetitively famous tracks are repackaged in today's software to appeal to doom scrollers.

When the Instagram artist obviously doesn't know how to use references.

When the local clothing brand outright copies designs from their "influences" while hiding behind words like "small business" or "support locals."

The availability of information makes it possible for just about anyone to make it, but only those who put the actual work in get to change our culture.
