Doing creative work feels so satisfying because it's not always easy. There has to be an element of difficulty involved, or you wouldn't feel that sense of achievement after you finish your project.

This sense of achievement fuels your desire to do more, which gets you hooked into the practice, and unlocks progress.

Doing the same things every day can help establish your muscle memory, but if you want to make progress every day, you have to add considerable difficulty to your work.

As you learn, you'll feel inadequate or frustrated—these are symptoms of the next level. You get these necessary pains because you're on your way to getting better at what you do.

As you get started with your creative work, add some difficulty into it—find an area in your work that needs improvement and push yourself to get a little better at it today.
